Title
Bunker ”Zagračina” Bozava
Submarine bunkers The Yugoslav army had dug perfectly hidden tunnels to moor its submarines. They are found on some Croatian islands including Dugi otok (due to its strategic position) and Vis (because it is located in the middle of the Adriatic). On Dugi otok there are three rock bunkers, two in the village of Dragove and one in Bozava. (called “Zagračina”) located in an uninhabited bay overlooking a protected stretch of sea. At its entrance, a concrete sidewalk and an iron handrail follow the entire length of the gallery on both sides, which ends with a perpendicular wall. In the middle of the tunnel there is a gallery that leads to the warehouses where the soldiers kept weapons and ammunition. The Yugoslav navy left all bases on Croatia's islands when the country declared independence
